Peggy brought her Raffle quilt for Children's Miracle Network. Her husband will display it in his story and sell chances. Great Job Peggy.
Sheree visited Mary's Quilt Shop in Bedford, PA and made this red crazy quilt in an afternoon. Just slice a scrap and sew it on until you get a block approximately 9-10 inches. She enjoyed it and says it was quick and easy.
Everyone has been asking about learning to do applique. For March Rhonda found a pattern and adapted to a table runner (see last months entry for pattern). We cut the flowers and leaves using wonder under and machine applique technique, buttonhole stitch. Technique for the vine was simple, cut a one inch stip on the bias, iron wrong sides together and sew at 1/4th inch, fold and iron on the stitch line. We attached with pins and did a zigzag basting stitch. Then used our buttonhole stitch and stitched along both sides. It went really quick and everyone had their center strip about complete before they left.
We discussed a quilting retreat to Mary's Quilt Shop. Bonnie Hunter will be visiting Mary's Quilt Shop the weekend of July 20th. We called Mary and made arrangements to stay and attend Bonnie's Trunk Show Friday night and Workshop the next day making Jared takes a Wife. We would also like to take some time and visit Sue and Harry Tritle and Surplus City if we have the time.

Rhonda and I loaded my X quilt onto her long-arm frame. What an easy process! I worked on my red, white and blue Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt. Next month we will learn machine stippling on our applique table runner.
