What a beautiful day to get together to quilt! Unfortunately not a lot of quilting got done! We did a lot of talking and planning instead, with a little bit of quilting.
Sadly, Sue had to leave early as she started to feel ill. I hope you are feeling better Sue.
We plotted out our schedule to the end of the year. That will be posted at the end of the blog.
Sue showed us her current projects before she left. She will be mounting these adorable puppies on canvas for her daughters' Mother's Day presents.
This is the black lab,
the two schnauzers
and the boxer-pit bull mix. Sue always surprises us with the cool things that she makes.
Peggy was busy making neat projects too! These are needle cases.
One for her crochet hooks. (I guess that makes this a hooks case.)
This is her circular needle case. Ted made the numbers for her. How sweet is that?
Peggy got a new tool for the snaps. She made reversible cup cozies and needle holders so far.
Peggy made this cute knitting bag before. I don't know if I got a close up picture of it then. Such cute fabric.
Kinley's birthday quilt was semi finished just in time. The frozen quilt is for her birthday today! Linda will have to take it home to finish the binding.
Linda made these two baby quilts for twins.
Here are the bags we made for Carrie's friend to fill with goodies for moms. I think she is going to pick them up next quilt club.
Rhonda made the pantry quilt filled with fruits and vegetables. I love the crates filled with potatoes, peppers, onions and corn at the bottom.
Another row has been added to Rhonda's leader ender quilt. The next color will be green.
This is another Fancy Forest baby quilt that I made in grays.
And this is my On Ringo Lake-Bonnie Hunter mystery quilt. I still have to bind it.
Rhonda made pasta soup. Everyone loved it and she is going to share the recipe. I will post it at the end of the blog when I get it.
Patty made a bean salad.
Peggy made a lemon poppy seed loaf. She will share the recipe and I will post this at the end of the blog also.
Here is Peggy's recipe:
We have two more rounds for out Round Robin quilt. After we get our box back and drool over all the pretty blocks, we will have until December 15th to finish it. We would like to get a picture of all of them together. Don't give it away until after the picture! Hahahaha.
The schedule for the rest of the year.

July there will be no meeting. The Hershey Quilt Show is the weekend of the 21st.
August 25-we will be meeting at Patty's house. The plan is to bring your medallion quilt so we can get our group picture taken. Patty said she is going to provide all the food. She also mentioned that there may not be any sewing.
September 22nd-this is when Rhonda is going to reveal the new group project!
October is the club's 15th Anniversary. We will plan a getaway for October 26-27, probably in Lancaster where we will be able to do some shop hopping.
November 24th
December 15th-this is the deadline to have the Round Robin quilt finished.
Have a great Spring everyone, now that it appears to have finally arrived!

Here is Peggy's recipe:
LEMON POPPYSEED BREAD
1 box lemon cake mix
1 box lemon pudding
1/4 cup poppyseeds
1/2 cup oil
4 eggs
1 cup boiling water
Mix cake mix, pudding and poppyseeds. Add oil and eggs and mix well, then
slowly add boiling water and mix well.
Preheat oven 350 degrees
Grease 2 bread pans
Divide mix into pans and bake 35-40 minutes.
I never ice the bread, but since I made it as a dessert I did this time. I
made a lemon glaze (1 cup confection sugar and 2 tbsp of lemon juice). Since I
left the bread in the bread pan I iced it instead with the glaze.
Here is Rhonda's recipe:
SAUSAGE PASTA SOUP
1 lb hot or sweet sausage or ground turkey burger
2 8 oz cans diced tomatoes, I used 1 can Rotel diced tomates with chiles
and 1 can roasted diced tomatoes
8 oz can tomato sauce
14.5 oz chicken broth
16 oz pk Green Giant Past Accents – garlic (This included the past but I
couldn’t find that so bought McCormack Basil, garlic, sea salt seasing 4 tbs.
and a box of Radiatore pasta)
½ lb Radiatore Pasta
Grated parmesan cheese for garnish.
Brown sausage, add in tomatoes,
sause and chicken broth. Simmer for 20 minutes. Add pasta and
herbs. Cook 5 more minutes. Garnish and serve. Doing in crockpot
you need to add more liquid (chicken broth or water the longer it sits)
