Sept. 2013 II

Quilt club part II.  Club met again Sept. 28th.

We had a lot of show and tells.
Peggy is up first.
Peggy's granddaughter, Gabby, was our special guest. She brought her very first quilt that she pieced, machine quilted and bound. She did an awesome job. Keep up the good work Gabby.

Peggy's Christmas Tree Table Runner with matching Christmas Tree napkins.
 Peggy's Fall Table Runner
Peggy took the Bonnie Hunter challenge with her leader and ender spools quilt.
Cathy's very first quilt project finished.

Twin patriotic quilt for Cathy's sister-in-law. There are two the same. Her sister-in-law will just love them.
 Baby Quilt
Sea turtles quilt top for Cathy's extra bedroom that the grandchildren use
Flannel quilt top for Cathy's granddaughter
Although Linda wasn't at quilt club. We showed her quilt for her granddaughter, Kinley. Rhonda machine quilted it with a cute dolphin panto. It turned out really nice.
Rhonda is starting her Christmas presents. Straight to the point pattern. Need to get the borders on and then quilt it.
Rhonda's second quilt top for a Christmas present. This was a group project "Jelly Roll race". It took about 1 1/2 hour to sew together. It was fun, quick and easy. Still needs the border.
Sue finally had a free Saturday to spend with us. She spent her summer camping. She did have one show and Tell. It is a bed runner for a dear friend in a nursing home. He is transferring homes from Delaware to Pennsylvania to be closer to family and friends. The orange blocks are for signatures from the Delaware nursing home. Sue has to get the binding finished by 5 am Sunday so she can leave it for them to sign. She works great under pressure.

I am so very proud of Gabby. All 3 of my Granddaughters are learning to sew and quilt, following in my footsteps, because I was also taught by my grandmother. Gabby has also made herself a top and ruffled skirt, and is working on the jelly roll quilt. Her next project is crocheting herself a shawl. Maybe someday the 3 of them will start their own quilt club!!
